What you will do
You will work from our Utrecht office, in a fast-paced, international environment. The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in driving the success of our Exhibitions and Conferences in Asia Pacific. We are looking for a motivated, experienced and energetic new member of our team to take ownership and develop our Asian portfolio. As the Senior Project Manager you are responsible for the performance of the shows which includes setting targets and KPIs, cross collaborating with Marketing and Operations teams, driving Commercial Sales, control budgets and work closely with the central administrative departments that support the results of the shows.

VIV is the flagship brand of VNU Europe Exhibitions (the international branch of Royal Jaarbeurs) and caters to the international agrifood sector. The brand is an absolute leader internationally in the field of livestock farming and protein production across species.
Our international trade shows include VIV Europe, VIV Asia, VIV MEA, VIV Africa, and the national editions like VIV Select China, VIV Select Türkiye and the recently launched VIV Select India. You can find a full overview of the portfolio on the website.
The VNU team in Utrecht consists of 15 colleagues, and is an international, multicultural, and dynamic team. You will also work closely with the team at the VNU office in Bangkok.
About the role
Teamwork and collaboration are an important value and we strive to be successful in all we do. As Senior Project Manager you have the following responsibilities:
Project management: Manage project planning, the budget and ensure a good (financial) completion and evaluation of the events and work closely with internal departments and our colleagues from the team of VNU Asia-Pacific in Bangkok and to co-ordinate and deliver in line with exhibition cycle deadlines
Concept, Sales and Stakeholder Management: Develop the event concept knowing and including the latest industry trends and monitor the sales progress and reporting via dashboard tooling, you also take an active role in key account sales and in building strong relationships with our stakeholders
Finance: Manage event P&L budget and forecasting to meet operational business plans, together with budget holders
Strategy: Leading the development of the event with industry insights, strategy and execution for your event, set the event concept and develop it into innovative event plans and propositions. Making VIV or other brands a distinctive and sustainable brand and its positioning in the market considering all future developments of the global event industry
KPI’s: You are result driven and you actively steer on revenue, EBIT (gross margin), visitor numbers (joint effort with Marketing) and customer satisfaction (both from visitor as exhibitor perspective)
What you bring
With your intelligent and enthusiastic approach you are an inspiration to your team. You are creative and data-driven and you have an eye for quality. You like to try something new and go for the best result. You also have:
Experience in leading projects and teams within high-end professional services for at least 5 years
Strong budget management, forecasting and business management skills (adept with CRM systems, sales dashboards, marketing metrics)
Excellent proven project management, planning and organizational skills
You are a good sales coach and mentor and good in training your team to high performance
You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
You have the ability to thrive in a multicultural environment and have strong interpersonal skills
You are professional, honest, enthusiastic, open, committed and positive with a can-do approach
You are an innovative driver of the project with the ability to build strong industry and political networks as well as having a great inside on the events business developments

What we offer
A monthly salary of up to €6.200 based on 40 hours per week, depending on your experience
8% holiday allowance and a pension contribution
27 vacation days per year based on a 40-hour workweek, with the option to purchase additional days
